This is it – tomorrow morning Sarah and I start our 30 hours of travelling (hopefully only that!) to get ourselves back to Chengdu! It’s been great spending time in the US of A.
The trip out to Indianapolis for the wedding was an enjoyable one. On the way out we were able to stop at our alma mater, Cedarville for a quick visit; the center of campus is pretty torn up with the construction of the new building, but it was great to talk with a couple of people.
We also had the chance to try to solve an important, nagging question: who has better wings, Quaker Steak and Lube or Buffalo Wild Wings? My decision: both are good, and the hot wings at B-dubs is hotter than at Quaker Steak, but the sauce (the most important part) was better at Quaker Steak and Lube. You may disagree with me if you wish, and B-dubs will always be great, but I’ve gotta say, they were good.
For the main event: the wedding was beautiful. It was a gift to be able to be in-country for the wedding, and I am so happy we were able to make it. Pictures, anyone? It was also wonderful to see family, some of whom we have not seen for two years. This picture was of the family sans Josh and Kaylie, as it was the morning after the wedding at a local Craker Barrel.
A minor change of route allowed us one more stop at a Chipotle on the way home – yes, a lot of the activities on this trip centered around food! – and we made it home safe and sound. The next post from me will be coming from the other side of the world, back in our familiar stomping grounds…
